Job Summary:
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has a faculty position available for a Procurement Surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor. The cardiothoracic surgery service at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) is a high volume, high acuity service, providing tertiary level care across the entire spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery. Procurement of Heart and Lungs for patient transplantation will be the focus of this position. Evaluate organs for recovery and increase volume of procurements throughout the year.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is expected to work in various locations to recover organs. There will be landing space located in Aurora, CO.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$350,000 to $550,000 based on experience
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.

- MD or DO with at least 3 years' experience in organ procurement
- Holds a current CO medical license and DEA number
Preferred Qualifications:
- High volume organ recovery
- Heart and Lung Transplantation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Traveling to various recovery centers to procure organs
- Evaluating Heart and Lung organs for procurement and transplantation
- Graduated responsibility for abdominal organ transplant
